Early Pregnancy Support with Dr Danny

Private, compassionate care in a supportive environment

Sunny Health provides confidential consultations for patients seeking information and support regarding early-pregnancy options.

This service is available to current Sunny Health patients under nine weeks’ gestation, following an in-clinic consultation and assessment.

Our Approach

Pregnancy decisions can be complex and personal.
Dr Danny provides safe, confidential, evidence-based care in a supportive, non-judgemental setting.

Our goal is to ensure you receive accurate information, continuity of care, and genuine support every step of the way.

All consultations and treatment are conducted in-clinic in accordance with Queensland Health and RACGP standards for safety, privacy, and informed consent.

What to Expect – Step by Step

Your Consultation and Pre-testing

At your appointment, Dr Danny will review your medical history and discuss your options.

If appropriate, standard investigations will be arranged, such as:

  • Blood tests to confirm hormone levels and overall health
  • Ultrasound to confirm gestation and ensure suitability for medication treatment

These checks ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

Treatment and Support

Once test results are reviewed, treatment can begin. Dr Danny will explain what to expect physically and emotionally, provide guidance for comfort and pain management, and ensure you have clear after-care information and 24-hour contact details for support.

Review and Follow-up

A review consultation will be scheduled a few days later to check how you’re feeling, discuss symptoms, and provide reassurance or additional support as needed.

Completion Appointment

A final visit is arranged about two weeks after treatment begins to confirm that the process is complete and your recovery is progressing well. At this appointment, Dr Danny can also discuss contraception or other aspects of ongoing wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Who can access this service?

Current Sunny Health patients under nine weeks’ gestation who wish to discuss early-pregnancy options privately with Dr Danny.

Is my care confidential?
Yes — your care at Sunny Health is private and confidential.
Everything you discuss with your doctor stays between you and your healthcare team.

Your trust matters to us, and we take privacy seriously — not just because of our legal obligations, but because your privacy is important to us.

In very rare situations, doctors may be legally required to share information to protect someone’s safety — for example, if a person is being harmed, is unsafe, or at serious risk.

Whenever possible, this would be discussed with you first so you understand what’s happening and why.

Why in-clinic only and not over the phone?

For safety and quality of care, all assessments, treatment, and follow-up take place in person at Sunny Health.

Will I need tests?

Yes. Blood tests and an ultrasound are required before treatment to confirm suitability and safety.

These will be ordered at your initial consultation and reviewed by your doctor before you begin treatment.

How long does the process take?

Most patients complete the process over about two weeks, including their follow-up visits.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a partner, friend, or family member for support.

What does it cost?

The total fee for this treatment has an out-of-pocket cost of $495.10 for Medicare card holders ($580 upfront with a Medicare rebate of $84.90).

Concession card holders have an out-of-pocket cost of $295.10 ($380 upfront with a Medicare rebate of $84.90).

For non-Medicare patients, the fee is $580.

Full payment is required on the day of your appointment.

I’m not sure what I want yet — can I still book?

Absolutely. This appointment is a safe space to talk through your options and take time to decide what feels right for you.

What if I’m over nine weeks or not eligible for this treatment?

If another pathway is more appropriate, Dr Danny will discuss alternatives and arrange referrals for ongoing support.

Is it normal to feel emotional about this?

Yes — it’s completely normal to experience a mix of emotions before, during, or after this process.

Many people feel relief; others may feel sadness, uncertainty, or a combination of feelings. However you feel, it’s valid.

If you’d like extra support, you can talk to your doctor about how you’re feeling at any stage.

We also have an onsite psychologist who can provide confidential counselling if you’d find that helpful.
