FAQs
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online anytime by clicking this link.
We use HotDoc — the secure app and website we use for appointments.
We encourage patients to download the HotDoc app here.
HotDoc on Google Play or HotDoc on the Apple App Store
You can also call our friendly reception team on (07) 3361 8111 if you prefer to book over the phone or need help choosing the right doctor or appointment type.
Do you offer bulk billing?
We believe in keeping healthcare accessible for everyone, so we bulk bill certain patients to ensure quality care remains within reach.
We bulk bill the following patients, 7 days a week.
- Children under 16
- Pensioners and concession card holders
- Patients aged 65 and over
For all other patients, a small out-of-pocket fee helps us provide longer, higher-quality consultations and maintain the level of care our patients value.
Weekday Appointments
Out of pocket: $36.10 — Standard Consult ($80 total, rebate $43.90)
Out of pocket: $37.10 — Long Consult ($122 total, rebate $84.90)
Weekend Appointments
Out of pocket: $37.85 — Standard Consult ($95 total, rebate $57.15)
Out of pocket: $37.00 — Long Consult ($135 total, rebate $98.00)
Medicare rebates can be processed instantly in-clinic when you use a debit card. Otherwise, we can send your claim to Medicare and they typically pay within one business day.
Do you see patients without Medicare or international patients?
Yes — we welcome international patients and those without Medicare.
We have HiCaps and EFTPOS facilities to process claims and payments instantly for most major health insurance providers, including BUPA, Medibank, and NIB (excluding Allianz)
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes — we offer telehealth appointments for existing patients who have visited the clinic within the last six months. Medicare does not allow telehealth consultations for new patients who have not attended the clinic in person before.
The out-of-pocket fee is $36.10, based on a total fee of $80 and a Medicare rebate of $43.90.
When booking a telehealth appointment, a valid debit or credit card is required to confirm your booking.
If you book through HotDoc, you’ll be asked to enter your card details securely within the app.
If you book by calling the clinic, you’ll receive a link to upload your card details — this must be completed before your appointment, or your booking will automatically be cancelled.
How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
You can easily cancel or reschedule through the HotDoc app, or call us directly.
We ask for at least 3 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment to another patient. If something unexpected comes up, please still call — we appreciate communication and will always try to help.
Where can I park?
We’re located inside Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown, which offers plenty of free parking and easy lift access from the car park.
What if I need after-hours medical care?
For after-hours medical care, please contact the National Home Doctor Service (13 SICK) or visit your nearest emergency department.
If it’s a life-threatening emergency, call 000.
How do I get my test results?
Once your doctor reviews your results, we’ll usually send you an SMS.
If a follow-up appointment is needed, the message will include a link to book online.
Can I request a repeat prescription without an appointment?
Yes — for stable, regular medications with your usual doctor, you can request a repeat prescription online through HotDoc Routine Requests.
This service is available for existing patients only and cannot be used for Schedule 8 (S8) medications (like painkillers or opiods).
Your doctor will review your request and let you know when it’s ready or if an appointment is required.
Do you perform women’s contraception procedures?
Yes — our experienced male and female doctors perform Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals in-clinic.
Fees vary depending on the procedure and time required — please speak to our reception team for exact costs and available doctors.
Do you offer iron infusions?
Yes — iron infusions are performed onsite by our doctors and highly trained nurses. An initial consultation is required to assess suitability and discuss the procedure.
The out-of-pocket fee is $185.10, based on a total cost of $270 and a Medicare rebate of $84.90.
Do you offer medical acupuncture?
Yes — medical acupuncture is available with our experienced and highly trained doctors.
The initial consultation is $80 (rebate $43.90) or bulk billed for children, concession card holders, and patients over 65.
Follow-up acupuncture sessions are bulk billed, except on Sundays where a small $10 gap applies ($53.90 upfront with $43.90 rebate).
Do you do commercial driver (Uber/taxi) medicals?
Yes — we perform commercial driver medicals for Uber, taxi, and other professional licences.
The total cost is $180 + GST, and the appointment takes around 30 minutes with both a doctor and nurse.
Medicare does not provide rebates for these appointments.
Do you do over-75 driver medicals?
Yes — we complete over-75 driver medicals for our regular patients and bulk bill these consultations.
For new patients, we require a copy of your previous medical records and an initial consultation before scheduling the assessment.
Do you have female doctors?
Yes — we have several female doctors available 7 days a week.
You can view each doctor’s profile and availability on our HotDoc booking page.
Do you offer skin checks?
Yes — our doctors perform comprehensive skin checks and mole assessments to help detect and manage skin cancers early.
Regular skin checks are especially important in Queensland’s sunny climate.
Can I see the same doctor each visit?
Absolutely — we encourage patients to see the same doctor for continuity of care. If your regular doctor is unavailable, you can book with one of our other trusted doctors, who will have secure access to your full medical records to ensure seamless ongoing care.
Do you have doctors or staff who speak other languages?
Yes — we’re proud to serve a diverse community, and our team speaks a wide range of languages to help patients feel comfortable and understood.
Languages spoken at Sunny Health include:
English (all staff), Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Sinhalese, Farsi, Filipino (Tagalog), and Tamil.
Our nursing team speaks Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic, and our reception staff also speak Mandarin.
If you’d prefer to see a doctor or nurse who speaks your language, please let our reception team know when booking — we’ll do our best to match you with the right clinician.
Is Sunny Health the same GP clinic as Sunnybank Hills Family Practice?
Yes — we’re the same location, now under new ownership and a renewed focus on patient-centred care.
We’ve kept many of the trusted doctors and nurses who have cared for our community for years, while also welcoming experienced new doctors to broaden our services and enhance patient care.
With exciting renovations and upgrades, new allied health partners, and a continued commitment to genuine, compassionate care, Sunny Health is building on everything patients already valued — just delivered the Sunny way.
