Ear Wax Removal
Safe and effective ear wax removal
Excess ear wax can sometimes cause symptoms such as reduced hearing, discomfort, or a blocked sensation in the ear.
At Sunny Health, our doctors can assess whether ear wax removal is appropriate and perform the procedure safely within the clinic.
When might ear wax removal be recommended?
Ear wax removal may be recommended for patients experiencing:
• blocked ears or reduced hearing
• ear discomfort or pressure
• ringing in the ears
• wax buildup affecting hearing aids or ear examinations
Your doctor will examine your ears and determine whether removal is appropriate.
What to expect
An initial consultation with one of our doctors is required to assess the ear canal and determine the safest method of wax removal.
Ear wax can be removed using microsuction or ear syringing, depending on the type and location of the wax.
In some cases, your doctor may recommend using ear wax softening drops for several days before the procedure to make removal easier and safer.
Cost
The fee for ear wax removal using microsuction is:
• $50 out-of-pocket for one ear
• $75 out-of-pocket for both ears
If ear syringing is performed, the fee is $40 out-of-pocket for patients who are not eligible for bulk billing.
Please note that a consultation with one of our doctors is required first to assess whether ear wax removal is appropriate.
The method of wax removal (microsuction or syringing) will be determined by your doctor following examination.
If you have any questions about fees, our reception team will be happy to assist.
